The Red River Valley School Division (RRVSD) Board of Trustees is thrilled to announce Mr. Daniel Preteau as the new Superintendent/CEO, effective August 1, 2025. With 26 years of experience in education—including 10 years in administration and 8 years in senior leadership roles—Daniel brings a wealth of knowledge, expertise, and an unwavering commitment to fostering student success and well-being.
Throughout his career, Daniel has held a variety of roles that have allowed him to develop a well-rounded perspective on the needs of students, educators, and the broader community. He began his career as a Teacher at RRVSD before moving to Division Scolaire Franco Manitobaine (DSFM), where he served as a Teacher, Guidance Counsellor, and Resource Teacher, working directly with students to provide critical support and guidance. Over the years, Daniel advanced to several key leadership positions, including five years as Director of Student Services, one year as Director of Human Resources, and two years as Assistant Superintendent at DSFM. These roles have provided Daniel with a deep understanding of the intricacies of educational leadership, human resources, and the importance of student-centered learning.
Daniel’s leadership philosophy emphasizes collaboration, listening to the needs of students and staff, and ensuring that every student has access to the resources and opportunities necessary for success. Being fully bilingual and with his extensive experience in both instructional and administrative roles, Daniel is assured to make a lasting, positive impact on the division and its future.
The Board of Trustees has full confidence in Daniel’s ability to lead the Red River Valley School Division to new heights. His strong vision for the future of education aligns with the division’s ongoing commitment to academic excellence, student development, and fostering positive relationships with families and the broader community.
