National Day for Truth and Reconciliation 2025

The feather is a powerful symbol in many Indigenous cultures. It represents truth, respect, strength and healing. On Orange Shirt Day, the feather reminds us of the children who never returned home from Residential Schools, the survivors who carry their stories, and the responsibility we all share to walk the path of reconciliation with care and honour.

As we wear orange, we also carry the feather's teachings: to seek truth, to show respect, and to remember that Every Child Matters.

There is no school on Tuesday, September 30th, the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Take this time to reflect, learn, and honour Indigenous children, families, and communities.
