Understanding Your 2026-2027 School Budget

Welcome to the Red River Valley School Division’s (RRVSD) 2026-2027 Budget Video Series. We believe that transparency and community understanding are the first steps in building a stronger school division.

This 9-part series is designed to take you behind the scenes of our financial planning, showing exactly how your tax dollars support our mission to help every student Learn, Grow, and Succeed. From classroom instruction and student support services to transportation and infrastructure, our leadership team breaks down each "Function" of the budget to show how we balance educational needs with fiscal responsibility.

What’s Covered in the Series:

  • The Foundation: Our vision for student success and our commitment to Treaty 1 Territory.

  • The Classroom: Why over 50% of our budget is dedicated to regular instruction and maintaining low student-teacher ratios.

  • Student Wellness: How we provide direct access to clinicians, social workers, and specialized support programs.

  • Operations & Logistics: The massive human effort required to transport 1,441 students daily and maintain 390,000 square feet of learning space.

  • The Bottom Line: A final look at the "dollars and cents," including the impact of provincial salary harmonization and your local property taxes.
