Parents are a child's first teacher. We consider it a privilege to have the responsibility of being part of your child's education. Parents and educators share the same goal of giving children the best education possible.
We agree with Manitoba Education's Statement:
"Positive relationships are formed when families and schools work together. Everyone has valuable information to share. Parents know their children better than anyone. Educators are professionals with extensive training and experience. Everyone's contribution is valuable."
The Red River Valley School Division looks forward to partnering with parents so our children can achieve to their highest potential.
RRVSD "Strong Beginnings" Initiative
- Strong Beginnings is an assessment that occurs early in September for students in Kindergarten to Grade 8. Children with their parents will attend school by appointment for approximately 60 minutes to participate in assessment activities. This is an opportunity for teachers to extend and consolidate their understanding of each child to plan for instruction. This, in turn, will effectively address unique learning needs as early as possible into the new school year.
