I currently reside in Ste. Agathe, where I have lived for most of my life. I attended elementary school here before completing high school in St. Jean, which was previously part of a different school division. Over the years, my family has built strong ties to the community- especially through my eldest son's high school years in Morris. I have always been an active participant in school life, volunteering on parent councils, supporting sports teams, and engaging in various community activities.

Additionally, my 16 years of experience working in another Manitoba school division until 2019 have provided me with valuable insight into the education system-knowledge that I believe strengthens my role as a school trustee. Currently, I am employed with the federal government, where I apply public policy and governance principles daily. This experience has equipped me with a strong understanding of strategic planning, decision-making, and leadership skills that are essential in serving effectively as a trustee.

I am deeply committed to ensuring that every student graduates with a well-equipped "life toolbox" -not just academic knowledge but also the skills necessary to become engaged, responsible members of society. As a trustee, I advocate for policies that prepare students for success beyond school, whether they choose post-secondary education, skilled trades, or direct entry into the workforce.

One of the most pressing challenges in education today is rising costs. Seven years into my role as trustee, my primary concern remains securing adequate funding to meet the evolving needs of our students. As financial resources become more constrained, it is imperative to explore creative solutions. Collaborating with neighboring school divisions-such as through the successful RRVTA program-has proven beneficial, and I believe we should continue expanding such partnerships to maximize our resources while maintaining high-quality education.

Outside of my work and trustee responsibilities, I have a passion for traveling, gardening, and reading. I have always believed that books are gateways to knowledge, and I am particularly drawn to stories of resilience-narratives that highlight perseverance in the face of adversity. This perspective aligns with my role as a trustee, where we must navigate challenges, make strategic decisions, and find ways to do more with limited resources, ensuring the best possible education for our students.

I firmly believe that every voice in decision-making matters. Effective collaboration requires open dialogue, active listening, and, when necessary, taking a step back to gather additional information before proceeding. Thoughtful decision-making means seeking research, consulting with stakeholders, and ensuring that policies are fair and well-informed.

Above all, I am passionate about ensuring that every student-regardless of their background or circumstances has access to a high-quality education and is treated fairly. For some children, school is more than just a place of learning; it is a safe and supportive environment where they can thrive academically and personally. As a trustee, I remain committed to fostering inclusivity, diversity, and a school culture where all students feel valued, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential.
