Heather Poirier
Board Chair
Ward 5 Trustee
I currently reside in Ste. Agathe, where I have lived for most of my life. I attended elementary school here before completing high school in St. Jean, which was previously part of a different school division. Over the years, my family has built strong ties to the community- especially through my eldest son's high school years in Morris. I have always been an active participant in school life, volunteering on parent councils, supporting sports teams, and engaging in various community activities.

For as long as I can remember I have been involved with children and education. I have been RRVSD's Ward 2 Trustee since October 2022, and was born and raised on a farm near Whitemouth, MB. I moved to Sanford, MB in 2019 to join my spouse and raise our families. We have 3 daughters, Hannah, Taralyn, and Jessie who are all currently pursuing their post-secondary education at different Universities across Canada.

Ward 4 Trustee
Morris became our home in 1969 when my wife, Sharon, and I moved here after I graduated from Minot State University. I had accepted a teaching and coaching position at Morris School, where I worked until my retirement in 2005. Over the years, Sharon and I have raised three daughters, welcomed three sons-in-law into our family, and are proud grandparents to four grandchildren. Our strong family ties to this community have made Morris a place where we've been fortunate to witness the growth and success of the students we've worked with, and to see our own children thrive here.

Ward 7 Trustee
I grew up in Calgary, Alberta, where I graduated in 1996 and attended Mount Royal College to obtain a certificate in Graphic Design. After spending several years working in the oil and gas industry, I realized my true passion was in education. I made the decision to transition into a role as an Educational Assistant (EA), where I worked with special needs children. In 2021, I made the big move to Manitoba and chose to run for school board trustee, recognizing the vital role that school boards play in shaping public education. I now reside in the De Salaberry area with my daughter, and I am deeply committed to ensuring that our school division provides the best possible opportunities for all students.
