Sara Hrynenko
Ward 7 Trustee
I grew up in Calgary, Alberta, where I graduated
in 1996 and attended Mount Royal College to obtain a certificate in Graphic Design. After spending several years working in the oil and gas industry, I realized my true passion was in education. I made the decision to transition into a role as an Educational Assistant (EA), where I worked with special needs children. In 2021, I made the big move to Manitoba and chose to run for school board trustee, recognizing the vital role that school boards play in shaping public education. I now reside in the De Salaberry area with my daughter, and I am deeply committed to ensuring that our school division provides the best possible opportunities for all students.
As a trustee, my ultimate goal is to ensure that every student in our division has the opportunity to graduate and pursue a career they are passionate about. I believe that success looks different for each student, and it is crucial that we provide them with the tools and opportunities to unlock their full potential. We need to continue fostering intellectual thinking and develop future leaders who are prepared to thrive in a rapidly changing world. Serving as a trustee has been a humbling experience, and I have learned so much about our wonderful school division. I have had the privilege of meeting many students, teachers, administrators, support staff, and parents, and I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of our schools. As a parent, I understand firsthand how important it is to influence the policies and procedures that directly affect our children's education. I believe that the values of our school division should reflect the values of our community, and I am committed to ensuring that our division continues to serve the needs of every student.
